I live in Chicago’s Rogers Park neighborhood, where I spend a lot of time playing music, writing prose, and walking around. My short stories have appeared in Downstate Story, Chaffin Journal, Allegory, Iconoclast, Rambunctious Review, Blue Lake Review, and other publications. A few of them are reprinted here on the blog. My SF novel, Jimmy Stu Lives!, is coming out later this year (2012) from Penumbra Publishing. (Hot damn!) My wife and I get together with some friends every so often and play music in various venues around the city. Videos from some of our shows are up on this blog, too.
I grew up down in The Ohio River Valley, but like Chicago OK–except for the Winters and the traffic. The music and the pizza are great. Sometimes the sports teams are OK, too. (Go Bulls!) This blog is mainly about writing, reading, music, and the subterranean homesick blues.
